Shold I use 2 ply wood backed veneer or the 10 mil paper backed veneer on my table top?

Is it better to use the 2 ply wood backed veneer or the paper backed veneer on my table top?  I'm new to veneering and I need some advice.  Thank you, Sandy

Sandy, The 2 ply wood backed veneer or the 10 mil (1/64") paper backed veneer would both be suitable for your project.  If your table top has gouges or damage to the surface, the 2 ply wood backed veneer would probably be the best choice.   The wood backed veneer helps to hide any dings or gouges.  The 2 ply wood backed veneer is more dimensionally stable than the paper backed veneer. Overall, I like the wood backed veneer the best.  However either choice would be suitable for covering your table top.
