Flatness of Wood Backed Veneers and Paper Backed Veneers. PSA Peel And Stick Adhesive Does Not Affect The Flatness of a Wood Veneer. How to unroll and uncoil a veneer sheet that has been rolled up and boxed.

Posted by

Q. Is a wood backed veneere flatter than a paper backed veneer sheet?

What effect does a peel and stick PSA adhesive have on the flatness of a veneer sheet?

A. The paper backed veneer sheets and wood backed veneers are generally flat and easy to work with.  We roll our veneer sheets up and ship them in a box.

When you receive your veneer, remove it from the box and lay it flat at room temperature, and the veneer will relax.

Wood backed veneers have more body and are thicker than the paper backed veneers.  This can make the wood backed veneers appear to be flatter than the paper backed veneers, but both types of veneer are flat and easy to lay down on your workpiece.

The PSA adhesive has no effect on the flatness of a sheet of veneer, regardless if it is a wood backed veneer or a paper backed veneer.
